Rite of the Call to continuous Conversion- el rito de la Llamada a la Conversión continua
On Sunday, Feb.21, 2016  11 baptized candidates and their godparents and sponsors went to the Cathedral of Saint Patrick to celebrate this important rite with the Cardinal in preparation for the reception of the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist in the Easter Vigil on March 26th.  The Cardinal, Timothy Dolan encouraged them in their journey and animated them to continually turn to the Lord for strength and courage, for wisdom and light as they enter more fully into the Christian life as baptized Catholics and become full member of the Church. Let us as the Catholic community of St. John Chrysostom pray for our candidates so that they may receive abundant graces and the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their Confirmation and may come to know and experience the joy and unity with the risen Lord in the receiving of his body and blood in the Eucharist.  Let us pray for: Jackson Acuria, Silvia Álvarez, Joshua Serrata, Aracelis Vásquez, Lizette Felipe, Naycha Ginorio, Nakima Santiago, Austre Santiago, Orquidea Solano, Efraín Troche, Amiriz Sánchez.

                                                 

El Domingo, 21 de febrero de 2016,  once candidatos baptizados y sus padrinos y esponsores fueron a la catedral de San Patricio para celebrar este rito importante junto con el Cardenal, Monseñor Timoteo Dolan, en preparación para recibir los sacramentos de la Confirmación y la eucaristia en la Vigilia Pascual,el 26 de marzo. El cardenal les animó a continuar en su camino de la fe, buscando siempre convertirse más a Cristo y entrar más plenamente en la vida cristiana de Iglesia como miembros completos de la familia. Pues, como la comunidad catolica de San Juan Crisóstomo orémonos por nuestros candidatos a los sacramentos de la Confirmación y la Eucaristia que reciban gracias y dones abundantes del Espíritu Santo en su confirmación y que experimenten y conozcan la alegria y unidad con el Señor resucitado al recibir su cuerpo y su sangre en la Eucaristia.  Oremos por:Jackson Acuria, Silvia Álvarez, Joshua Serrata, Aracelis Vásquez, Lizette Felipe, Naycha Ginorio, Nakima Santiago, Austre Santiago, Orquidea Solano, Efraín Troche, Amiriz Sánchez.

  
                                                                  

Rite of Election  Rito de elección
On Sunday, February 14, 2016, 5 parishioners and their godparents went to Saint Patrick's Cathedral to participate in the Rite of Election of the Catechumenate.  These 5 are part of the RCIA program, preparing to receive the 3 sacraments of Initiation Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist in the Easter Vigil on March 26, 2016.  The were received by the Cardinal, Cardinal Timothy Dolan and signed the book of the elect.  We congratulate Leylilin Calderon, Tony Meléndez, Estela Quispe, Jenifer Pimental and Glennys Valenzuela for their decision to want to join the Christian Catholic community, the Church. We assure them of our prayers and support as they walk during this final preparation to receive the sacraments.

El domingo, 14 de febrero de 2016, 5 de nuestros fieles juntos con sus padrinos fueron a la Catedral de San Patricio para participar en el Rito de Elección de los Catecúmenos.  Estas 5 personas son parte del programa RICA y están preparandose para recibir los 3 sacramentos de Iniciación: Bautismo, Confirmación y Eucaristia. en la Vigilia Pascual, el 26 de marzo de 2016.  Nosotros les felicitamos por su decisión de querer unirse a la comunidad cristiana católica, la Iglesia.  Les damos la certeza de nuestras oraciones y apoyo mientras caminan esta etapa final antes de recibir los sacramentos.
